Promoting Knowledge and Understanding -
The
Jewish Police Association (JPA) was set up in 2001 to offer support and
advice to Jewish personnel within the Metropolitan Police Service. A meeting
took place in December 2001 with the Metropolitan Police Commissioner
of the time, Sir John Stevens, where he gave his support to the Association.
Today the JPA is based in multiple UK Police Services, whilst continuing
to enjoy a close relationship with the Met.
Aims
and Objectives
"To
provide a network for support and advice to Jewish personnel within the
Police Service"
"To
promote understanding of the Jewish faith within the Police Service"
"To
act as a resource reference for the Police Services, regarding religious
and cultural issues, and in particular those that affect front-line policing."
"To
actively promote the Police Service as an employer of choice for the Jewish
community."
